A lock, a key, a worker
Locking/labeling is basically the implementation of locking by any individual on a machine, equipment, process or circuit that he or she repairs or maintains. The concept of "total control" ensures that the individual is solely responsible for locking
Authorized persons/affected persons
Authorized personnel should understand and be able to implement all aspects of locking/marking procedures.
Affected personnel should understand and respect the locking/marking and should not attempt to modify or move the locking/marking used by others.
Effective training
Understanding of locking responsibilities, procedures, methods, and requirements results from effective locking/marking training. The knowledge gained in the training is translated into field/operational practice. Effective training is verified by periodic inspections and includes provisions for demonstrations and situation feedback.
