To ensure compliance with 1910.147, hazardous energy sources such as electricity, pneumatics, hydraulics, chemicals, and heat need to be properly isolated to a zero-energy state through a series of shutdown steps recorded by the lockout program.

The above-mentioned dangerous energy is dangerous and needs to be controlled to prevent mechanical movement through power generation or residual pressure during service and maintenance activities. However, there is an additional problem with electrical hazards that needs to be considered for isolation-electricity itself.

Electrical hazards not only exist in the power generation process that provides mechanical movement, but the electricity itself also needs to be controlled and isolated in a separate power supply device, such as circuit breaker panels, knife switches, MCC circuit breaker panels, and circuit breaker panels.

There is an important relationship between locking and electrical safety. It needs to be locked and used as a control measure to ensure worker safety, and electrical safety work practices need to be observed and followed before repairing or maintaining electrical panels. When the electrical device is opened to perform work, the relationship between the qualified electrician and the authorized lock-out person follows the same path but differs in different directions. This is the end of the authorized personnel's work, and the qualified electrical workers begin to work.

Locking is the practice of isolating dangerous energy to a machine to prevent the mechanical movement of key components and the flow of dangerous energy such as air, chemicals, and water. Isolation of hazardous energy (such as gravity, compression springs, and thermal energy) also plays an important role because they are identified as hazardous energy on equipment. To ensure isolation of these hazardous energy sources, equipment-specific locking procedures need to be followed. The identification and locking of these hazardous energy sources can be done by personnel trained by the organization as authorized personnel.
