Maintenance of large industrial machines-Lockout tagout

Let me give an example of a lockout tagout case: Suppose a technician needs to perform maintenance on a large industrial machine that is powered by the mains. Before commencing work, technicians must follow lock-out, tag-out procedures to ensure that power to the machine is turned off and remains off throughout the maintenance process. The technician will first determine all sources of energy, including power, that need to shut down the machine. They will then secure all energy sources with locking devices such as padlocks, so they cannot be opened while maintenance work is being done. Once all energy sources have been locked, technicians will put a sticker on each locked device indicating that maintenance work is being done on the machine and that energy must not be restored. The label will also include the name and contact information of the technician working on the machine. During maintenance work, it is critical to ensure that lock-out, tag-out devices remain in place. No one else may attempt to remove the lockout or restore power to the machine until the maintenance work is complete and the technician has removed the lockout. Once the repair work is complete, a technician will remove all lock-out tags and restore power to the machine. This lockout tagout box keeps technicians safe while working on the machine and prevents any accidental re-powering that could pose a significant safety risk.
