The main points of LOTO practice are as follows:
Step 1: What you must know
1. Know what hazards are in your equipment or system? What are the quarantine points? What is the listing procedure?
2. Working on unfamiliar equipment is a danger;
3.only trained and authorized personnel can lock;
4. Only Lockout tagout that you are asked to do;
5. Never use someone else's lock or card;
6.If you need more locks, please ask your monitor and supervisor.
Step 2: The six-step operation procedure
1. Prepare to shut down the equipment:
(1) Obtain the safety maintenance procedures of the equipment (mainly Lockout tagout); ② If not, fill in the work permit form and similar forms; Understand the potential dangers of equipment; (4) Inform other relevant personnel of the information that the equipment will be shut down, and ensure that the other party confirms the receipt of the information.
2. Turn off the equipment:
① Use normal closing procedure; (2) Turn all switches to the off position; ③ Close all control valves; ④ Block all energy sources to make them unavailable.
3. Isolate all energy sources:
(1) Close the valve; ② Disconnect the switch and connector.
4. Lockout tagout:
In order to ensure that the equipment energy is absolutely turned off, the equipment is kept in a safe state. Locking prevents accidental use of the device, resulting in injury or death.
(1) the valve; ② Switch/electrical circuit breaker; ③ Block or disconnect all line connections; ④ Lock and hang the crepe clip.
5. Release or block all stored energy:
① Capacitor discharge; (2) Block or release spring; ③ Blocking and lifting parts; (4) Prevent the rotation of the flywheel; (5) Release system pressure; ⑥ Discharge liquid/gas; ⑦ Cool the system.
6. Confirm equipment isolation:
(1) Confirm that all other personnel are clear; (2) Confirm that the locking device is securely installed; ③ Confirm quarantine; ④ Start work as normal; ⑤ Turn the control switch back to close/neutral.
